Self Portrait

Self Portrait

My Self Portrait would be a little better If I had longer arms. Sadly, I took 10 pictures and this is the best I could come up with. I hate my crooked smile.

This is why I can't go to Hawaii with Jim and Brenda  (Note to Brenda- Look in mirror before going in public in a grass skirt.) I couldn't find any portraits and came across this and hopefully it won't find its way out in cyber space (Karyn). To all my blog friends, Have a Merry Christmas and Health and Happiness to All of You.

Light (or Lamp)

This is my favorite lamp. I got it at TJ Maxx many years ago and they had two and of course I didn't have money for the two so went back a couple of days later, and no lamp. And as you can see, it a little dusty and didn't notice until after picture taken. Oh well. Something for me to do tomorrow. hahaha

Light

With just a little cloud cover this is what I got taking a picture into the sun. Pretty cool.

Debby.

LIGHT

Our new exterior porch light.   We need to find a different bulb for this as the energy-efficient one in there is too big - it sort of hangs out on the bottom.

Light

My I Love Lucy lamp gives me light every morning at my computer...I did clean up the papers and mess around it before I took this picture...

Night Time

As you can see this wasn't taken tonight..

It's a good thing...

Nighttime

This is a view from our shore. This was taken in April at 4:30 so it's not really nighttime but as close as I had since I don't take many or any nighttime pictures.

Nighttime

Guffins Bay, Lake Ontario, this past summer.

Daily Routine

I try to include a walk in my Daily Routine.

Debby

MORNING ROUTINE

Levothyroxine and Vitamin D.

Morning Routine

No cereal in bowl yet....But the coffee is usually ready to go the night before...It's so much easier to push a button than to measure coffee when I get up so early...

And my medicine is out so I don't forget...

TRANSPORTATION

If you lived in my neighborhood, your transportation might include a tractor.  This is Bernie's Kubota with a payloader on the front.

This is the Tourons' new, slightly smaller, Kubota.

Or maybe a Chevy Silverado pick up truck, like Mark's.

You've got to have a four-wheeler or a golf cart - or both!

And you need to have a hot rod.  This is Bernie's 1976 Chevy Laguna.

This is the Granholms' 1934 Chevy.

And you might have a horse or two.  These belong to the Warrens.

ARTWORK

A drawing done by my granddaughter, Cody.

Transportation

This was Grayden's mode of transportation for the summer when he was three and four. As you can see, underwear and pants were optional. Notice he was required to wear a helmet. Safety first.

Varieties of Transportation

The T in Boston. This the C line right in front of my apartment on Beacon Street in Brookline.

This is the R train in NYC. We were headed to Century 21 in Bay Ridge Brooklyn last year...love that place!!!

This is Arsenal Street in Watertown. Mom was driving and I was a passenger and decided to take a picture of these people...

Transportation

1999 GMC Yukon, with 145K miles. Sometimes overheats. Was almost my gratitude picture, because she is still getting us where we need to go!!!

Transportation

It's not a clear picture of the transportation but look closely you'll see an airplane...
In the forefront is Jim's 17 year old granddaughter, Courtney..
We've been up since 3:30 so she can catch an early flight to FL...
She has flown before but never alone...They let me down to sit with her until she boarded..

Artwork

Since I don't have an O'Keeffe to take a picture of and downloading one from the Internet may be defeating the purpose of the blog.....The best artist I know is Mother Nature.

Grateful

I am grateful for my beautiful flowers and my house. And so many other things but these are just two.

Gratitude

I opened my eyes this morning with the sun coming through the window shade and my first thought was "Thank you". It isn't summer sunny but NW winters can be dreary, just the lack of rain is something to be grateful for.

Debby

Gratitude

I was going to post a picture of my clean calendar with  no doctor appointments but I think I jinxed myself...

So here is my gratitude, the fact I am retired and I love it...

My Closet

This is my tiny closet.  It's like all the other closets in the house - only as wide as its door.  Most of these things don't fit me and probably never will again but I keep hoping.  Maybe I should call it my "Hope Closet." Anyway, I think I'm the winner of the smallest closet here.  Or would that be loser. It's neat though.  That could be because I don't ever need to go in it.  Oh, yes.  I'm a loser.

P.S.  That box that says 'Bernie's Black Dress' isn't that.  It's his black dress shoes.

CLOTHES

Clean clothes waiting to be put away.  The question here is:  Will they make it into the dresser before they get worn?  This is my bad habit.  One of them.

Closet

Left closet brought to you by Debby Manning and Ann Marie Ekstrom. I didn't really take the time to straighten it up like they left it. The right closet is the same idea just a lot messier today so no picture taken! They could have their own show on organizing and neat ideas for such a small place like my studio!!! I hope they come back soon!

This is a Closet?

This closet in under the stairs. You can see unused TV cable and a water line for a refrigerator on the back wall. There are also two shelves to the right that follow the stairs. They are difficult to access. I have boxes there that I didn't want to put into the mini storage. The nine hangers on the right are mine. PS Maria has decided that when we leave she will NOT be moving downstairs. She has 4X the closet space in her (Riley's) room and it isn't big enough.

Debby

Closet

This was when it was new. It certainly looks different today but just couldn't bring myself to take picture today. When I look at all the clothes, I am thinking we have way to many and we go nowhere. Ha.

Closet

Nothing interesting today in my closest, left is mine and the right is Jim's...

Clothes Press

This was the only closet in our bedroom. Someone told me it is a clothes press, because you keep pushing the clothes back on each other. What do you think?

JEANS!

Sooo...I like jeans. I don't have a house or a cottage. I don't have a purse fetish (well sort of) or a shoe buying problem...I just have jeans. You are looking at approximately $2,250.00 worth of jeans. And I LOVE every single pair of them!!!

Clothing/Costumes

Dalton is taking Tae Kwon Do classes and loves it...

Last year out of the blue Sophie decides she wants to dress up like Santa to go to the Christmas Eve party...

Warm Clothing

Dick is going to wear his hat in the church Christmas play, as the man who came in from the storm.

Clothes

If it's true that "clothes make the man" my Grandsons, Riley 14 and Cody 17, may be in trouble.  Here are the clothes they wore, in public, to the volleyball fundraiser for the food bank

BED

My not so comfortable bed! There is a big dip in the middle just my size :)

WHERE I - WOULD LIKE TO - SLEEP

Our bedroom is sadly in need of a refresher course.  The picture above shows a bed which is similar to ours and a color that is close to what we want.  When will we do it?  Who knows!
