MEMORIES

Our neighbors, Bonnie and Chuck, many years back, planted a large field full of Blue Spruce seedlings.  After watering them and then mowing around them for years, they decided that they would thin them out.  Anybody who wanted these pine trees was welcomed to come and get them, along with care instructions.  We have a nice row of them along the side of our lot, but we also have the two foremost in this photo that are special.  Grandchildren, Cody and Mikey were here one autumn afternoon.  Cody was five and Mike, three.  I bundled them up with a quilt into the back of the golf cart and we followed Papa on the tractor up to pick out two trees, then came back here and planted them.  At the time, neither tree was very big, maybe a foot and 1/2 tall.  Now, both stand about twelve feet tall - not the kids, the trees.  Cody is sixteen.
