Pete and Repeat

When I took required freshman art the teacher said that repeated architectural features were considered beautiful. At the time I considered them boring. I only loved a lot of gingerbread or Swiss chalet type buildings. But the idea of repeated patterns being beautiful was such a puzzle to me that I remembered it. Now I can appreciate more classical designs. But it took a long time. This picture is from the Ringling Museum in Sarasota Florida, Jan. 2011.

  3. Yes, as in the Ringling Brothers! One brother, John(?), ended up with the whole circus and became quite rich. He collected some really important art and built this art museum to put it in.
